The annual Célébrations de la FIERTÉ ’10 is just around the corner. Founded in 2007 to support the Montreal LGBTA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual, Transgender, Transvestite and Allies) community, Célébrations LGBTA Montréal is entering its 4th year with the theme “Share the Pride” in an attempt to remind us that many around the world are still getting prosecuted or even killed simply for ‘being who they are’.
Célébrations de la FIERTÉ ’10 is held from August 10-15 with an array of performances and discussions about the issues facing LGBT communities.
The PRIDE parade will take place on Sunday, August 15 at 1 p.m. where both cultural and community organizations will be encouraged to design their float according to this year’s theme – “Our Superheroes”. The parade will start on the corner of Guy Street and travel east on René-Lévesque Boulevard, culminating on Sanguinet Street and the Village.
